First Baptist Church, Duluth, a long-time traditional Baptist church, now experiences heaven on Earth by pursuing oneness in worship with its multi-ethnic congregation of 47 nationalities. Live interpretations in Korean, Spanish and Mandarin help ease the differences and difficulties in worshipping with one mind and one voice (Romans 15:6). Singles in Your Neighborhood- More Diverse Than You Think

Sadly, when churches say “single adult,” the immediate thought is “not married,” and a host of characteristics and reasons for a single status are given. Yet, single adult women are much more diverse than their marital status, and they aren’t all the same. However, many don’t feel welcome in a church or even that there is a place for them within the body of Christ. This panel discussion will focus on how to reach the growing demographic of “single women” without viewing them as anomalies. Panelists will include a recent college graduate, a working professional who has never been married, a pastor’s wife who works with single adults and a widow.
